Wayne Cochran, based the song "Last Kiss" on an incident that happened on December 22, 1962, the Saturday before Christmas. Sixteen-year-old Jeanette Clark was out on a date that night. Driving the car was J.L. Hancock, also sixteen. Cochran, the song writer and the one who originally sang it dedicated "Last Kiss" to Jeanette Clark.
