Pero nitong nakaraan, inutusan ng Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) ang Power Balance na aminin na nag-"engage in misleading conduct" sila sa pamamagitan ng mga advertisements at promotions nila dahil wala silang credible scientific evidence na totoo ang sinasabi nilang nagagawa nung makapal na rubber band na yan.

May mga nagsasabing totoo ang effect ng Power Balance. May mga komokontra din na nagsasabing nasa utak lang daw ng gumagamit yan. Mind over matter na may halong positive thinking lang daw ang nangyayare.

Naglabas ng statement ang Powerbalance...

Madami ang na-disappoint dahil wala naman daw pagbabago nung sinuot nila yung Power Balance; Mga basketball player na hindi lumakas ang talon, mga acrobat na hindi gumaling mag-balance, mga baseball players na hindi lumakas pumalo, mga adik na hindi lumakas ang tama, mga hindi natuto magbisikleta, mga torpe na hindi lumakas ang loob, mga babaero na nabuking dahil hindi natuto magbalance ng sabay-sabay na syota, mga waiter na natapon ang dala, mga kalabaw na hindi lumakas mag-araro, at mga pasosyal na hindi parin nagmukang sosyal kahit gano kadaming Power Balance ang sinuot nila habang nagwe-wakeboarding.
